Well the case work should be a little bit higher at least to give a little bit more physical headroom for the KT-150 tubes at the very least but I am sure there will be modifications to the transformer specs and/or windings used for the tube as well as some minor circuit rework (slight mods in resistors, cap values, etc...) to optimize for the new tubes. Just making assumptions here.

Hopefully this will put the REF gear back in prominence as compared to the Galielo series products.

Don't expect it to be better but probably equal in SQ without the schmaltzy case, etc.

1k more for the REF75SE and 2k more for the REF150SE. Forget what the REF250SE was. So the REF150SE will be 5k cheaper than the GS150. At least that's what it sounds like.

Priaptor,

Would you be kind enough to specifically tell us where you got the information regarding the new model upgrades including the "Reference "75SE?" Was it from Audio Research itself, a dealer, or other source?

If you got your information from Audio Research or a dealer, did they tell you if the current models are upgradable? If so, which models?

Thanks and appreciated.

My dealer told me a little while back that Audio Research was working on an upgrade for the existing Ref amps - so, yes, your current amp will be upgradable.

Thanks or the info.

I just bought a new Reference 75 less than 2 weeks ago. If I had of know this I would have waited. Did your dealer give you ETA for the upgrade?
