tompj,

I apreciate your comments. Next month I hope to be receiving a pristine pair of Momentos in the red violin finish. A fellow AA'er has kindly waited for me to save up the money to purchase his speakers. It was a killer when Glenee had his for sale but I didn't have the funds. The excitement is growing with each day. I have always admired Sonus Faber speakers and have read several times all the posts on AA regarding the Momentos and other models too. It is to much of a stretch to jump up to the newer model joey_v mentioned about on Agon. It was an excellent price and the finish was beautiful. But to get the classic Sonus Faber sound, I think I agree with you, the Momentos are the way to go. If they need a little bump on the low bass end I have just the solution. Two JL Fathom 110 subs. I can thank Ivan for that good purchase.

~Mike

David,

Are you using an active external crossover and at what frequency do you have your cross over point?

Thank you,

~Mike

Mike,
You beat me to Glenee Momentos - it was a truly great price. Will you meet him in Dallas and treat him to a steak dinner?

David,

Thank you for your crossover settings. I probably should get an external crossover like the Bryston 10B or JL CR1. I will have to wait a couple more years if I go that route. It is great to hear how well the Mementos integrate with subs.

miner,

No, I missed out on Glenee's Mementos when he had them for sale. I sure drooled over his pictures enough times. The person I am buying from is another AA member who lives California. I hope to complete the purchase at the end of next month. This will be my last speaker purchase.

That is how I feel when I get my Mementos or Evos. Post pics once set up please. BTW, I have my REL B1 crossed at 45Hz for use with my Cremona Auditor Ms.

I have listened to the Mementos but not the Evos. Evos are out of my grasp. They sure have a beautiful finish and from what I read sound just as good. Are you using an external crossover with your Cermona's? I think 45Hz is where my JL's are set with my 3.7i's. Here are some pictures the seller sent me. These babies are really pretty.

I used to augment my Guarneri Memento speakers with JL F112 with a Bryston 10B-SUB crossover. Don't recall the exact crossover points now but the results were nothing short of amazing, smooth, well integrated bass in the listening room.
