Default 2 JL 113's output

HT Room is 20x20x8
What do you think is possible, for 2 JL113's output (db's) at an 18 foot sitting distance, from the subs.

My cheap SP meter, read 117dbs on a test (Movie).

Is that possible??
Or would the JL shut down?

Thanks for any information, besides turn it down.

I can't help you with your question but I've got a question.
How much better did the sound get (for music) when you added the second F113?
I'm considering a second one.

You won't regret a second sub. It opens up the soundstage even further as well as "fleshing out" instruments to insanely realistic level.

Serge,

Maybe I missed this, but are you using your two JL subs with the Sasha's?

Thanks,

Stephen

Yep, just fired them up again recently. Crossing over very low at 22Hz since Sasha's don't really need it. Fills out the bottom end very nicely but the Fathoms are pretty bored and are yawning in my system right now.

Do you hear much music below 22hz.
Not sure I would hear my subs that low, with the music I play.

Maybe the Munster Cathedral 4 organs?

Is this due to there being two drivers, or because there are two subs in stereo mode? In other words, does something like Thor's Hammer or a Gotham count as one sub or two, because they have two drivers?

Those would both be single subs even though they have multiple drivers.

I'm glad I went with a stereo pair driven as Masters. I've been playing a lot music and the difference is just stunning. I can switch them on and off (thanks Dan) and find that the presentation will collapse or expand depending if they are on or off.

I had them set a bit hot (gain) until the better half "suggested" I use up some battery on the SPL meter. She was right. Now they do not draw as much attention to themselves. Much better in a supporting role vice the lead.

Multiple drivers in a single enclosure is one sub.
