Any Sony ES Fans? Thoughts on Sony CDP-555ESD?

While we're at it, how about the ST-S555ES Tuner? I still have mine, but I only listen to the radio in the car.

I have Sony CDP X77ES, still work. But drawer doesn't always come out.
No more spare part available. Bought new in 1991.

Wow, I can echo the post by TOGA above. I also own a CDP-X77ES that plays wonderfully, but has issues with the tray. I have to assist it when opening or closing the tray. Maybe it needs new belts?

I have an NC555ES Sony DVD SACD player, it is the five disc changer. Has great sound. Bought it new and still use it. I think Sony knows what they are doing with Cd players for obvious reasons and they are reasonably priced.

I bought a CDP-555ESD new around 1990. It is still in service, still sounds very good. There was one model above it which I believe was CDP-77ESD that cost about half again as much, and it was even better, but not worth the difference to me. Mine still looks like new, has never given me any problems. Last year I bought a Sony HAP-Z1ES, which plays pretty much any file type, I am ripping a large collection of Redbook CDs to Flac and loading the on the hard drive. I have also downloaded HiRez files to it. It sounds near as good as digital can get with the right recording. I also have Sony SS-AR2 speakers which are ES line. So you might say I am a Sony ES fan.

Related, I have a Sony M555ES 400 CD changer that I use satisfyingly, daily.
However I have 1 ES changer out for repair due to erratic operation.
And I had an ES 5 disc changer that was not worth the repair.

I own a cdp-x7es , I have heard parts are no longer available but i don't think this will be a problem because this thing is a tank. It also has some cool features music bank that can memorize 200 cd's and never play tracks you don't like and index search that lets you go to points within a track. (if the disc is encoded with indexes) I have no idea what I would replace it with, it's that good.

I've been a fan for some time. I recently got my hands on a ka3es deck that is a joy
to listen. I never heard tapes sounded that good. I had tapes made in the 80s that
I had kept (don't ask me how) so that I could listen to them in a decent machine one
day and boy, does it deliver. Yes, they sound old and not as good as they could since
they were made on my Dad's good old Kenwood deck, but the memories are golden.
