No. 6. The new 24/196 mastering sounds quite good.

I do not recommend this.
The performances are meagre compared to the versions I own or have heard (modern and historical).

Heinrich Schütz - Psalmen & Friedensmusiken
Dresdner Kammerchor, Hans-Christoph Rademann
Qobuz 24/48

Interesting and very well done (I have to admit I havent heard other versions of these works).
This doesn't mean I absolutely have to hear the whole series...

I have heard some singers live with Collegium Vocale Gent. They're top musicians.

A brilliant conclusion to the first Heinrich Schütz complete recording. With the "Psalmen & Friedensmusiken" (Psalms & Music for Peace), Hans-Christoph Rademann and the Dresdner Kammerchor bring this groundbreaking project to a magnificent close. The recording features mostly unknown, but particularly sumptuous and mostly multi-choral works, which Schütz wrote between 1618 and 1648 for important political occasions or thanksgiving celebrations. Groups of soloists and choristers create a colorful sound experience in interplay with strings, trombones, cornetts and viols. A truly worthy conclusion to this award-winning series. © Carus

Jack Gallagher - Orchestral Music
London Symphony Orchestra, JoAnn Falletta

I keep coming back to this composer.
He writes modern, fresh, inviting music and has a story (stories) to tell.

Default What Classical Music Are You Listening To Tonight?

Carbonelli: Sonate da Camera Nos. 7-12
Bojan Čičić (violin)
The Ilyria Consort
Delphian (2019), 24/44 files

Lovely music, well played. Sound is good but noise floor could be lower.

Clara Schumann - Romance
Isata Kanneh-Mason, Piano
Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Holly Mathieson conducting
Decca (2019), via Qobuz

This recording covers some ground, with Schumann’s piano concerto, romances for violin and for violin and piano, transcriptions of Robert’s songs, a sonata, and so on. It’s all very nicely played, with good sound, and very enjoyable music.

It's hard to enjoy anything while dealing with an agonizing kidney stone, but this helped!

Oh my! I’ve been there - you have my deepest sympathies, I hope you pass it quickly.

Thank you. With the terrible kidney colic, I'm afraid it's large enough to get stuck. I had one that was 9x4 mm four years ago! (I did manage to pass it against all odds...) This one is a little less painful but still brutal. Tonight I think it has moved a little and it feels better.
