Default Changing for E-560

I have an E-450 as integrated amplifier. It was offered to me a deal that I would give my amplifier and an amount of money to get a brand new E-560. Is it a good idea to change for E-560? Has someone done this change? My speakers are Wilson Audio Sasha and the speaker cables are transparent ultra.

Best regards,

Renato

Renato.......Going from a Class AB integrated to a Class A should give you some wonderful music, but you will be going from 260 w/p/c at 4 ohms with the E-450 down to 60 w/p/c with the E-560. Hope that will be enough power for the efficiency of your speakers.

Renato, Refer to one of Magico's thread "Any Other V3 Owners" whereby a member Imprezap2 is currently driving his V3s (which I've also owned in the past, and IME, a harder drive than Sashas) with E-560 to surprisingly very good effect. You might want to seek his thoughts on this amp.

Thank you for your post, Dan. Your previous post about e-560 made me think about this integrated in my system. When this opportunity came, I thought it was time to ask if it is a good deal. More and more, I think it is. Unfortunately, I will have to wait a whole month to get the e-560. The store doesn't have it in stock.

Bvdiman,

I read this thread and I saw Imprezap2's videos in the youtube. I'm very happy about this opportunity. If nobody changes my mind, I will buy this integrated.

Renato.......I will be looking forward to your review of the Accuphase E-560. It is at the pinnacle of integrated amplifiers. I am excited for you.

Lucky you. Will probably be ordering the E-560 + DP-550 too for my brother, two months wait down here.

Hi Renabot77,

You won't be dissapointed if you go for the E-560, although you will have to give it some hours to reach the level where it is capable of. It is very refined, silky highs and gorgeous mids, the low frequencies are very well controlled. I have also tried to use my Wadia as a pre amplifier, connected directly to the power amplifier of the E-560. Many people use the wadia like this, but after trying I went straight back to use the pre amplifier in the E-560, this way much more spacial information.

When I tried the V3's I was a bit sceptical, because everywhere I was reading that they needed a lot of power, but after a few minutes I knew that the V3's would be replacing my Focals.
Also the E-560 delivers more power than mentioned by Accuphase, a German test measured 60 watt@ 8 Ohm and if I remember correctly 120 watt @ 4 Ohm, and also stable at 1 Ohm which means it delivers current.

The Wilsons will be no problem for the Accuphase E-560 power wise, if it is a good match, only trying will tell. (in the end it is a combination, of room acoustics and equipment matching, I think that I have been lucky in that part)

Olaf,

I'm very pleased with the E-450. It makes a great combination with my Sashas. I thought it would be my integrated for a long time. However, this possibility to use a pure class A amplifier made me change my mind. I was saving money to upgrade my speaker cables (I would like to try the transparent reference xl in my system). However, I think this upgrade will be more significant in terms of sound quality improvement. Am I right?
