Default Mozart: Mass in C minor, K427 'Great' (BIS SACD)

Here is another nomination...

Mozart:
Mass in C minor, K427 'Great'
Olivia Vermeulen (mezzo), Makoto Sakurada (tenor), Christian Immler (bass)
Exsultate, jubilate, K165
from the revised Salzburg version of K165
Carolyn Sampson (soprano)
Bach Collegium Japan Chorus & Orchestra, Masaaki Suzuki

Wow. This Mozart C minor mass interpretation and recording sends chills down my spine. The Japanese chorus is well-drilled and has excellent Latin diction. Suzuki's direction is expansive with slower than expected tempos allowing the orchestral colors to shine. The BIS recording is top-shelf offering some of the most natural, transparent sound I've heard. I highly recommend it.

Default New DXD recording from Sound Liaison

This new DXD recording from Sound Liaison is amazing. Lord have mercy', the end of the '50 revisited...Carmen Gomes is at the top of her game and the sound of the bass drum is worth the whole album. Highly recommended, it doesn't get better than this.
