Now, just sit back and enjoy! Personally, I've had virtually no thoughts of upgrading my TT.
Stephen.......I appreciate your input about the Michell Gyro SE and the SME tonearm. David had no influence on my decision. In fact, it was me who recommended the Gyro SE to him, and gave him a way out of the turntable and tonearm if he changed his mind.

You are correct, the Michell Gyro SE is a fine turntable, and a serious bang for the buck when coupled with the SME 309 or better arm.

Dan,

Somebody's up late listenin' to records! Love it. Been there just the other night...went to bed at 1:40 AM Friday night 'cause I couldn't stop spinning LPs.

Thanks for the clarification.

I'm just very pleased you're both enjoying your Michell TT/SMEs so much. Keep us posted on your impressions as the Cadenza runs in. And congrats on your first first MC!

Now, as Dave said, we expect to see some posts of what you're spinning.

Very much so. Their engineering and build quality is off the charts, IMHO. There may be arm/TT manufacturers that can possibly match SME's engineering prowess, but I've never seen it surpassed. Plus the arms are so easy to precisely, accurately, and reproducibly set up. Also, they are extremely durable. They will look and work like new for >30 years.

IMHO, why even bother with other arms....

Dan, congrats on the set-up! It's nice to be well rewarded after spending countless hours deciding what will make up a new, for you, TT system. I hope you get many, many hours/days/months/(dare I say) years of enjoyment from it.

Doug.......Thanks. I'm spinning vinyl again this morning. Very enjoyable. Looking forward to the Cadenza Black opening up fully. Wonderful sounding cartridge.

Dan,

Wow, the TT looks great. Glad your enjoying it.

That table has looks that seem timeless to me.

What are the differences in performance with the SME arm compared to one of the Rega arms?

Chuck.......The Gyro SE is a great looking turntable, and when spinning can be almost hypnotic. As for the Rega arms, I have never heard one, although the Michell tonearm is a modified Rega. I have seen a few used Gyro's with the Rega RB300 tonearm, which seems to be popular with this turntable. I think I made the right choice going with the SME 309.

No doubt, Dan.

I just wondered if anyone had done any comparison.

Better made, better engineered, better sounding, and better looking.

And way easier to set up.
