The look of this amp is ... well, different. A bit French. It has certainly grown on me since I first seen it yesterday.

Anyway, I wish him all the best.

BTW - has he lost his case against Krell ? Anyone knows the outcome of this legal battle ?
I have not read any recent updates on the case.

The new amps, 300 watts monoblocks! Double all the way down to 1.2kw at 2 Ohm.

Howie Bro, maybe this should be the amp driving your lovely SF Stradivari Palladio's!

US$42k per pair only! Cheap to your standards! Buy, buy, buy !!!
Bro,

I never liked the Krell sound and this looks like the bastard offspring of an Ayre MX-R and an Isoclean product. Both look great on their own but together???

My opinion?
At that price and with those cosmetics, he's following JBL's market..... offshore.
Offshore represents a growing a/v market that's willing to shell out for brand name cache.
Face it, the good ole USofA is not so much the primary market that global retailers want to appeal to.

Heard these at RMAF.

I readily admit, I was never a big fan of the Krell sound; it always seemed a little too solid-state for me even when other solid-state amps did not.

However these were just… beautiful, with incredible sound driving a pair of Wilson Sashas.

Alas, I could never justify that price unless I won a 9 figure Powerball jackpot.

Regardless, if you're in the market and are willing to spend the money, I urge you to listen to them even if you, like me, never liked Krell's sound; D'Agostino definitely did something magical here.

Oh, and in case you missed the press release last April:

Quote:
Due to the recent sharp rise in the prices of copper and aluminum, the company also announced a price increase on the Momentum amplifier from $42,000 per pair to $45,000 per pair.

Hmm. That because he chose expensive way to cool it. So we pay $3000 more just to keep its temperature under control.

Yah, it's a hefty additional premium, but then again, nothing is ever really "cheap" in our wonderful little hobby!

No founder enjoys getting kicked out from it's own Company. It is same comparison as banned from your own house. I do wish Dan the best since I do own some products of his (at a huge discount ) and is a fan of the Evo's. I also hope the new management will roll out great new products and improve the customer service. The Evo's sound totally different from the previous lines i.e., the FPB, MCX...etc.

However, price point at $42,000...........
