How would you compare Raidho's finish to the Sonus Faber Homage series? worse/same/better?

Really really beautiful veneer - and quite distinctive.

On looks I prefer it to the Strad!

(But I love the shape of the Amati too so...)

What's the grill look like?

2d speaker -- after these, must eat.

Just gorgeous. I am thoroughly pleased and getting really anxious to hook up the zip cord (pics to follow).

BTW, there are no grills -- Raidho doesn't believe in them -- they affect the sound (which they do -- the strings on the Strads vibrate quite a bit - but I like the look with the strings on -- I have taken them off periodically when I desire to have a serious listening session).

Just thought I'd mention one thing with the Raidho line (1.1's, 2.1's and 3.1's and I think the 4.1's also).

For instance, there is a huge difference in electronics/wiring and in-house driver construction between the previous models 1.0's, 2.0's, 3.0's and 4.0's and the newer .1 versions. Infact, the C3.0's listed for $35K and the C3.1's list at $49K.

The electronics, wiring (Valhala terminations and Odin cable in the C3.1's) and an entirely reworked set of in-house drivers and ribbon in the newer C3.1's.

So, should you hear the .0's -- wait, sit down & hold on when auditioning the .1's.

That's a tough one -- as I adore both. I'd say the fit and finish on the Raidho is even steven with the Strads -- definitely, not one thousanth of a point below the Strads, that's for sure. Danish craftmanship at its finest.

I favor the burl walnut too. The Raidho C3.1's have a very polished & suttle appearance & the traditional speaker appeal to it. The Strads are awfully wide & chew up room space -- of course and that was a purpose of their design. Not a dis on the Strads -- but you will see the room I have on my front wall when the Raidho's are placed.
