Agreed that is the 'safer' method. Take a look at the link you posted earlier and you'll see what i was referring to re the brushing technique (really 'scraping'). that link is to the arthur salvatore site, i think, but the original description of how to use it came, i think, from doug deacon on the 'Gon, back in 2004? or so.
Do you have a jeweler's loupe? I have a magnifiying glass that is substantial, but frankly, it is not powerful enough to see what i'd need to- it just enlarges the size of the stylus/cantilever, sorta like the ants in THEM.

I have a 20x loupe with an LED lamp on it. It woks well enough to see what I have going on.

AT the end of my playing session I use the MoFi stylus cleaning solution. When that runs out I may try the Clearaudio brand.

I have an old hand held mini micoscope, i'll have to dig it out, i forgot about it, on the liquids, i used to use the lyra one when i had their cartridges, only because they recommended them, I don't use any liquids now, just again, because i don't know what the manufacturer's position is on that.
Best,

Just ordered one. Thanks.

And super safe for a high end stylus?
Anything else I should do to clean one? I have a brush.

I think you'll be fine. You have cueing on your tonearm, right? My arm is a lateral tracker so i don't dunk into the Oznow with it sitting on the platter, i have a little adjustable platform I bring up under the arm at rest and cue down into the Oznow a couple times. (don't wiggle, just down and up). And sure, I use a stylus brush as well.
BTW, nice W.O.

I also took delivery of an Onzow dunker. I gather these are safest for use with a premium cart & do the best job?

Yes sir -- use it everytime. I have seen it used on $15K cartridges. No fear whatsoever.

Sorry for the confusion, i was commenting on your avatar, ie. W.O Bentley.

The 'platform' is an old style big magnifying glass that is on a cantilever arm mounted to a base; I can 'cock' it so the magnifying glass is horizontal and i rest the Onzow on top of it, just beneath the cartridge, so that when i cue the arm 'down,' it dips into the Onzow.
I can't remember why I didn't like putting the Onzow on the platter and cueing there- but this works for me. Remember, I am using a lateral arm, an Airline, so you probably don't have to go to this trouble, and since my TT is 'plinthless,' there's no issue about putting the 'platform' on the turntable plinth. The distance between the arm tube and the HRS platform on which the turntable rests is considerable. See my avatar or look at a picture of a Kuzma XL/Airline and you'll see what i mean. I'm sure you don't have to go to all this trouble.
G 301 is a great table. What arm are you using?
