$7,500 is an outrageous amount of money for any 804 variation. I'd rather have an 803S than an 804D. The speaker is just too small. I own the 804S by the way. It is good but just not enough bass extension.

Well...they must get it, or it would cost less...

The entire 800 series is a relative bargain. Is there better? Sure. Is there cheaper? Sure. But I have owned several in the series and I think they are competitively priced.

now the 802diamont (courrent serie -> called 80xdi/d/d2 we speak from the last version from the 2010/2011. (di or d2)
The 802di is one of speakers from a price/performance like no other.

The 803di vs. 802di: sure the 802di invest in a 803di FOR ME make no sense: invest in a 804di (vs, the 803di) and you will be very very happy!

My room (and is not a room ONLY for music) is around 60m2.
and the room size is very very important (70%?!?) to say sound good...You do that is not a single "component" in a system that make the "sound quality"
listen system from freind with "monitor speaker" in 60m2 and wow amazing.
have a speaker from 100k$$ in a "bad room" and with gears not at the level make no sense.
the entire system leans on the piece of the lower level for the final sound/sound quality--> I hope ypu can understand what I will say...

the point was a 803B&W was present with a diamont tweeter but the 803di or d2 sound much much better....but not at the level from the 802di/d2...

the 804 and 805 was S now (from 2010 ca.) with the diamont tweeter they are be a very changing vs. the S version. the 803, 802, 800d vs. the di/d2 are a upgrade sure bt not lile a 804S to804di.

style

The September 2013 issue of Stereophile has a review of the Diamond 804. The speaker is on the front cover.

I usually get mine on the 2nd or 3rd thursday of the month. It's always on a thursday for some reason...and today is thursday. So...

I am very interested to read the review, but I no longer have my 804D2. Thought it was a great speaker for the price though.
