Is the Eclipse not a Franco project? What about the little Mementos? What I mean is that they seem to be winding down the older classic SF products.

Bill - how would you classify the old vs new SF sound? I've never heard anything better than the Strads....

I'm sure they sound great....the looks just don't do it for me. Every other Sonus Faber speaker is just stunning to look at.

I auditioned the 802D and Guarneri Memento side by side. I chose the GM. It's been in my system for 4.5 years now.

The 802D had unpleasant highs that made my head hurt after 10 minutes. Also, the GM fits my room better whereas the 802D is simply too large. The fit and finish of the GM is quite a bit better than the 802D.

Big speakers can dominate a room so if the room is not dedicated it helps if you - and your wife - enjoy the looks of them.

Tommy it appears Guarneri Evolution will soon be available in walnut. Uh-oh.
