Not just push-rod engines. My 1976 Cosworth Vega engine was signed on the valve cover by the tech that built it. Once de-smogged and breathed on (p&p the head, DFX cams, 40mm Webers, 3" exhaust) it was a fun ride.

Well, the engine was what it was all about. It was the standard Cosworth engine for F2 cars of the day. Redline of 7500 with the DFX cams & springs, etc. Deserved a better set of brakes, but still great fun. The color scheme was the Cosworth black & gold with a machine-turned facia on the dash-board.

Actually, my last 2yr in grad school I had a standard '74 Vega that was a total rust-bucket. Barely ran when I bought it for $200. New plugs, rotor & cap and varoom. Never failed me in the two years I owned after that. Read an article about the best car to own in NYC if you had to park on the street. It was the Vega. No fear of it getting stolen and if it ever got towed, cheaper to replace then pay the fines & impound fee.

Now that’s a good reason to own a car

Don't believe they were talking about the Cosworth models.

Craig - I prefer your C7. All the mid-engine race-cars look pretty much alike to me. Seeing a half-dozen of them heading nose-to-tail around a race course is a test of your memory on which make is what color as that is about the only way to tell them apart. However, nothing else approximates the C7.
