USB Explained
Thought this might interest some (like me) who are not that up-to-date on the latest digital tech. I find figuring out what each of the various configurations of USB, etc., to be a pita, let alone all this stuff. The website this info comes from occasionally has good info for us digital neophytes.

Thanks Glenn, this is the best explanation I've seen. My two 2018-model Macs (MBP & Mac Mini) have thunderbolt with the same interface but the USB capacity is 10 gb/s vs. 40 gb/s as Thunderbolt. At the end of the day, this is kind of ridiculous, since most of us will have no idea what speed, capacity or bottlenecks we have when connecting devices these days.
