Default Ssd

For playback, definitely SSD, almost no question anymore.

I store all my ripped CDs and photos in a NAS. The NAS has 5 hard drives. They are set up keep all data safe even if two hard drives fail simultaneously.
However, not too long ago I experienced a series of blackouts on the same day and that threw a curve to the NAS. I was able to recuperate the data but some of my Ripped music files go corrupted.

To be safe I added a UPS to the NAS to allow me to do a normal shutdown in case of power failure. I also now pay for cloud storage and now keep a copy of all my ripped music in the cloud as well.
I may still get yet another hard drive to copy all my files there and keep that drive at another location. I learned a lesson.

I make back ups of everything on standard drives, in fact, 2 of most important things, even though they take up quite a few drives. I have about 30 8TB drives. Unfortunately, I work in remote radar sites, and my little apartment is so limited on space, I will have just enough room for a good headphone, server, and DAC setup. I appreciate everyone's inputs!

Anyone make a NAS SSD? I’m using a Buffalo NAS, but want to change it out to a SSD.

NAS is not a backup and I learned that the hard way. Even with a UPS, I had the PSU failing and I can't access any of my data anymore.

I've bought a new NAS and now I have an external hard drive (maybe I'll switch to a second NAS) as a backup and Backblaze as a second remote backup.
