A small Wisconsin company stored thousands of people’s CDs, then suddenly vanished
Last month, almost a million CDs stored in Wisconsin seemed to disappear. For years, thousands of people paid a Madison-based company, named Murfie, to rip, stream, and store their CDs, vinyl, and cassettes.

That's horrific. I feel so sorry for the victims.

10,000 CD lost! That is a serious investment gone south. I hope that customers can recover
their media. Best is to pack them and put in the attic or something.

Really sorry to hear that folks lost their CD collection.
I think that this company’s business model may have made sense before streaming services hit the mainstream. But now that CD quality streaming is readily accessible I personally don’t see the point of paying somebody to rip my CDs and also pay for storage. |
