Changing my rack configuration around in preparation for something wonderful. Moved my 501's and noticed I have tarnish on my Silver Eclipse connectors.

Rob.......The oxidation is because the Wireworld spade terminals are silver plated solid copper. The oxygen in the air will tarnish the exposed silver. You can also clean the terminals with a little silver polish or a jeweler's cloth.

My experience with Deoxit is that it leaves a oily residual (film) behind and its very audible....Deoxit Gold formerly (ProGold) is a much better product sound wise however it too leaves a residual behind but doesn't muck the sound up like Deoxit does......if your using Deoxit you should completly remove it from the connector and do a final clean with something else.

Something to try is clean the connector with Deoxit or Deoxit Gold and do a follow up cleaning the next day, its interesting to find how much brown greenish gunk you will remove a day later......No Flames intended just my findings!
