Thanks, took me 20 years to take the plunge. It came down to investing in either a digital front-end or R2R and chose the latter. Spent about the same
 Haven't regretted it or looked back once!Resisted for the longest time because of lack of software; like what happened in the early days of SACD, the availability of real time duped, 15 ips tapes is slowly improving. You're going to see more and more titles being released. Know of someone who's working a deal to release some mainstream music on R2R too! Should hear about this by CES.

I think that the ARC and Doshi are cut from the same cloth: neutral. But I think the Doshi has more soul eg. midrange and body.
