Thanks Douglas, the speakers are the centre of my setup and the one constant sicne they went into place. Everythign else has changed but the DAC.

I am really enjoying this Arye combo in the short time I have had it in the chain. Its very easy to listen to for extended periods and not at all dry or draining. When I read claims of a tube like smoothness I thought it was hyperbole but its actually a good way to describe the sonic signature.

Not sure the DAC will last much longer as its probably the weakest link now even though its very good for the money. However I will just enjoy what I have as is for now until my wallet recovers from the Ayre upgrade and it has been exactly that, a real upgrade.

^^ Looks awesome! I like it.

Question: What adhesive did you use to attach the room treatments? I'm thinking about some additional treatments for my room, but am concerned about damaging the walls by using the wrong sticky stuff.

Essjay, looks great and those Are MX-Rs' are amazing. From an ease-of-use perspective what made you change to the lower rack, requiring to bend down a lot more to change an LP? I've been lifting a bunch of heavy stuff lately, and am not getting any older - so that was my subconscious reaction looking at the last photo!

I did it using double sided tape ( not strong enough by itself) then added 3m spay on adhesive glue which did the trick.

Its a case of more is less, I was finding all the gear distracting for one and I had an earth hum issue driving me a bit potty. its dead quiet now and i can easily drop the DAC back into the chain if I wish. This new simplified setup makes it easier for me to focus on the music instead of the gear

Very nice system. I love PMC speakers.
The 2M Black is a great cartridge.
What is your phonostage ?

I like the simplicity.......I pulled out my CDP and DAC, I am 95% records with a splash of digital files and the balance reel to reel tapes.
I don't play CDs anymore, moved all that to another room system.

Everything sits much higher up so I don't have to bend at all to flip/play records.....As I age I think this will be my preference.

Phonostage is an MS Phonomenia ii, currently evaluating what I can upgrade it to. Its hidden behind the rack.

Someone recommend the Allnic Audio H1201 Phono Stage, just trying to find time to source one locally to trial

As for the bending down, its not noticeable unless I need to clean the cart with its brush and even then it does not bother me.

I was not sure playing records was for me, i fought the urge for 5 years and I am glad I eventually gave in as very enjoyable thus far.

Listening to a lot of classical, blues, jazz and older rock n roll of late. Life is good
