Randy, thanks. It's not much, but for me at this point in time it does a good job. I love the wood on the 140's. I'm now thinking of moving up to the Contour line, but these are doing such a fine job that it's hard not to just stay put. Maybe the 160's, which would be only slightly larger. Before anything though, I want to build a "craftsman' style cabinet to hold the gear. The old particle board Sony TV stand is amazingly ugly.

vinod_david, thanks for the compliment. Is Naim a popular brand in India?

I've been on this forum now since 2011, and this is the first time I've been able to experience some of what others have been discussing in terms of sound quality. The 140's got me to a certain level, but the NAD, although good, was not able to take them to the level they are playing at now. It's a good combination, but given my limited experience, I cannot say that it is the "best" for me. I am having a whole lot of fun listening to my lossless and HD collection, as if for the first time. Really enjoying many of the albums that once simply supplied me with background noise.

We love Naim here, but sadly no distributor or dealer here. It can only be brought from visits abroad or through friends/relatives.

Sad so few women on the site, but am very pleased that we have members from all over the world joining in the conversation, helping each other find their way in this wonderful, fulfilling hobby.

Folks, I think I'm in trouble.
We were sitting around the living room last night after driving 10 hours on the last leg of our recent road trip, when I asked Mel if she would like to listen to some music. She said yes, so I cued up a little Monheit. I like her copy of "I Won't Dance" with Michael Buble. Mel's eyes literally widened. She perked right up. In fact she sat up and then got up and started dancing, pulling me up and making me dance. She then wanted to know who was singing. I gave her the iPad (running JRemote) and she started to use it, after I gave her a brief tutorial. That's when the trouble started. I lost control of my music system. I finally gave up around midnight. She was cuing up one cut after another. Her toes were a tapping, she was singing. She wanted to know why more music wasn't showing on the server. When she started a sing along to Abba, I was out of there! I think she finally quite around 1:30 in the morning. She wants the JRemote app on her iPad and iPhone. Oh, lord!

LOLOLOLOL!!!!
Yes, that sounds like trouble, John. This must be the living room system, eh? Sounds like you need to either set her up with a system of her own or move into the Hangar.
