And... Just in case you have not already done so, check out other forums that specialize in home theaters. I would consider this site as a primarily audio-oriented site.
So you know, there are several SOTA digital preamps for home theaters that have not been mentioned here. I personally would not rate MC in SOTA category.

2 Channel for HiFi or Multi Channel for Home Cinema?

If Home Cinema then I can list a few of them. If you need more than 16 channels there is nothing other than Trinnov.

I have been using the same processor for both 2 channel and muti channel (up to 7.1). It is a Bryston SP3 processor that has great sound. But... it is not one that I would recommend today for a new installation given that it is at least 7 year old technology and lacks ability to play the latest codecs.
Trinnov, indeed, is SOTA and one to consider.

Yes, I have it and upgraded the cartridge with a Clearaudio Stradivari V2

Nice choice -- I had a MT10 when they first came out & installed a Strad on day one -- it was a fabulous sound. Still have nice memories.
