Don't think I would worry about clipping. Every well designed Class A (and Accuphase certainly fits into the category of "well designed") amp has plenty of head-room built in at its maximum rated power.

Class A/B but heavily biased to class A (first watts are in class A), but the trick with these new amps is the optimized switch mode power supply. "endless" current delivery.

I have always been a fan of the class A Accuphase integrated amps, but this Soulution sounded very good, waiting to give it a try in my own system.

Default Accuphase E-650

Hi guys !

This is my first post here, but I am (not really new and, actually) old to the ,,phenomenon''...

I know some guys here, including Ivan, have had the E-600 (I am a proud owner of one, too) and switched to E-650. I also know Accuphase is progressing, clearly, from an iteration to another (I owned a E530 for about a year, before the E-600), but I would like to ask you guys, if the last Accuphase's integrated iteration (E-650 - of course) is worth selling my less than a year old E-600 and investing about 4k extra. More specific, I am curios what exactly - not figures like damping factor, real power, balanced AAVA - would make it more desirable than the E-600 and, also, justify the extra money. Please retaliate your opinion, guys !
Of course I'm seriously having an eye on a E-650, but I consider my E-600 just broke in, IMHO and I can tell that, paired with the new DAC-50, the Aurender X100 and B&W 803D's, sounds fabulous.

Thank you all in advance and I hope I am not deturning this thread,
Dan, Canada

Keep your E 600. The difference in sound between the E 600 and the E650 will be very small. The E 600 is an absolutely fantastic amplifier, with which you did everything right where you bought the e 600

Am guessing that Ivan's E-650 will be at his MA home. Maybe you can wrangle an invite to his place and audition and decide for yourself after his E-650 is broken-in. You might even be able to A/B, if he still has the E-600.
