The new products Shunyata Research released in 2019 that I have implemented in the system this year have brought the largest, and most importantly, engaging and compelling improvements with respect to the quality of the listening experience I've made to the system for the the last decade.

Be interesting to see what new developments Shunyata Research will come out with in 2020, because they've on FIRE for the last half year or so...

But alas, I'm in the queue for the Ref6 upgrade. I am really going to try to give it a break after that and just buy records!

For me, I'm well-set with the many changes and concomitant improvements realized from 2019:
  • Shunyata Denali 6000/S V2
  • Shunyata new series of NR power cords
  • Shunyata Venom interconnects
  • Shunyata Sigma Ethernet cables
  • Shunyata Alpha USB cable
  • SOtM SMS-UltraNeo network bridge
  • Sonore OpticalModule fiber media convertor
  • Switching from wireless IP to OM1-specification optical fiber for streaming
  • Uptone Audio EtherREGEN ethernet switch
  • Uptone Audio LPS-1.2 and Keces P3 power supplies
  • Harbeth 40th Anniversary 30.2 speakers

So for 2020, I just going to quote Hans Beekhuizen: "Enjoy the Music!"

Ordered Shunyata Alpha PC, XLR and USB from Ivan. Should be shipped soon.

I am thinking about adding an Aurender (N10, W20SE), and perhaps trading up my current PS Audio DAC to other DACs (Esoteric, dCS).

Yup.

Actually, Mark, in thinking about it some more, I'm going to get two sets of the Shunyata DF-SS cable elevators. Having read the patent on these, and after watching a bunch of YT videos by Ken Wheeler about dielectricity and magnetism, and thinking about the propogation of audio signals along cables, I think these will bring a notable improvement.

I'm presently using some 3-D printed ones right now, which are too low in mass and not conductive, so therefore, not an optimal design embodiment. The other day I noticed that one of my speaker cables was on lying the floor the other day, and when I put it back up on the cable elevator, I could hear the improvement in sound quality: more focus, and a reduction in a skosh of haze.

So, DF-SS it is.

I need to figure out what's up with my outdoor speakers. There is some crackling going on and I have to determine whether it's the cabling or the external volume control or the speakers. Trying to determine the best way to trouble shoot this problem.

Maybe Aurender or lumin music server.
Something that can play even if network is down.
Then speaker upgrade I think.
