Default Aurender update

I don’t see any down side to this. If you don’t like it you can simply turn it
off. I downloaded it not sure I hear all that much difference in the actual music.
I do think it is a little quieter in the background. I feel I can play the same songs
A little louder without getting harsh. I think the greatest asset is that I may not
get hung up on a MQA Dac the next time around. I am now back to leaning towards a D1100 C1100 combo.

Exactly.
If the MQA was a truly revolutionary step forward that brought enlightenment, epiphany or nirvana like response... Well, there wouldn't be all this back and forth debating. As it stands, some find it better, some can't tell the difference, some even think it makes the sound worse... That's not exactly the technological revolution that evokes an industry wide panic to get on board, is it?

Agree, there is no downside especially when you look at $50.00 compared to the dollars in the systems we run.

I know some say it but man I gotta call BS on those who say MQA sounds worse. Can you say agenda? Not a chance it sounds worse. Same or better has been my experience with 808v6 and now N10/D1100.

I have not spent any serious amount of time comparing but the short time I did, I definitely did not think it sounds worse in any way that I could pick up on.

The fact that Universal, Sony and Warner have signed on board which requires a full catalog conversion to MQA and the fact that Tidal now offers 7 times the amount of high res content since they began in Jan 2017 is a plus for us audiophiles. It means there is at least a momentum going towards high resolution and better sound. As to the MQA itself debate, I am not in any hurry to dive in and go chasing MQA DACs just because of MQA. I would not criticize those that do AND I also understand why some manufacturers are not in a hurry or not willing or able to pay the licensing fees so you will see some predictable comments from that side of the camp. Let your ears be the judge and do what sound best to you is what I always say.

David.......I downloaded the latest Conductor App to my iPad, then the latest Aurender operating system software to both my N10 and my N100H this evening.

I am having an issue purchasing the MQA Core Decoder. When I am in Settings and tap on Purchase MQA License, then tap on link to download it this is what happens on both the N10 and the N100H.

I have contacted Aurender through the Help tab and Eric Shim has already contacted me asking for the screen shots I posted here. Hopefully we can get this sorted out.

After reading here that you can switch off the MQA license I decided to download the license. I will take the time tonight to compare between on/off.

One big advantage of the new Aurender conductor upgrade (nothing to do with the MQA license) is the possibility to search the MQA master files.

I have to say that I am using Tidal streaming more and more (over the last year), especially after inserting an AQvox "audiophile" network switch in my system, I don't hear a difference anymore between streaming a 16/44.1 file from the harddrive or Tidal.

I heard a difference with MQA Masters prior to the software upgrade and now to me it sounds even better, glad I did the upgrade. Listen to the MQA Fleetwood Mac song Landslide
