Keef,
Welcome! I bought my C2500 about a year and a half ago, and have the bug for the C1100, especially after lurking on this and other threads. To your point about (ignoring) budget, go for it and save the depreciation you would lose by buying the C2600 then upgrading.

I would say that other than my new Martin Logan CLX speakers, the C1100 made the biggest impact on my system. Without a doubt. Now I know were are running the risk of making the expectations hard to meet. There's sometimes a little of that 'this wasn't as good as the koolaid drinking C1100 lovers said" BUT I know in my pretty nice gear the C1100 was the most noticeable uptick. The MC601 amps are great and yeah a little more resolved and effortless if you will over the MC452 it replaced.

But the C1100 took it to another level...

Do it Bro. Save for it...Be patient. I am not Patient. But I give good advice to others.

Keef - go for the C 1100 and never look back.
BTW AA is not a support group!
We love to spend other people's money.

You will not regret the C1100 purchase. Worth every penny.

Ohhhh! ooops wrong forum!!!

I would sure like to hear one but I do not believe that is likely in my area and I live in a Mcintosh rich dealer area. And I definitely do not have anyone will to loan me one....

just got home the C1100T!!!
it is time to break it in a little bit before compare it to my previous C500T.
It sounds a little harsh now.
one ting i noticed is that the display looks way less bright (already set to max brightness) than the C500T, MCD1100 and MX121.
Anybody else experienced the same?

Congratulations! I am sure you can look forward to many years of enjoyment!

I decided on a CJ ET5 and must say it is sublime!

Congrats. I did not notice any decreased brightness. Mine is easy to read and see, at least to my eyes. It was a year between selling my C500 and installing the C1100 in my system. The brightness seems appropriate. My only ‘complaint’ is I don’t like that the screen says “INPUT:”. It’s self explanatory and unnecessary IMO. A pet peeve that’s all.
