"The "open source slot" is the analog input on the back panel "
Yep, but kind of defeats the 'all in one' concept!!!

Finally had some time to give this C1100 some love

For those who've followed my Neurotic purchases this past year; Here's a quick summary. Sept 2016 my first McIntosh unit. The C47....then I wanted more. Wanted a tad more refinement and perhaps a bit warmer. So I traded in for the C2600 tube pre. Not night and day but still took my system to another sonic level.

But as my $$ grew I wanted more. So saved up. Now the C1100.

Nearly right off the bat there is a quieter noise floor and just a naturalness that wasn't there before. To be fair the C2600 is AWESOME. This is not meant to knock that unit. Yesterday I jammed for about 7 hours straight. The C1100-even new- has made everything in my rig sound better. Placebo? Bias expectations? Maybe I know my system and favorite recordings pretty well though. This C1100 is stunning.

My audio journey took a big step. One is never finished LOL but I'm good on the preamps for the foreseeable future.

Impressed.

Got a question. In the next few weeks I'll have dual Martin Logan subs. The only time I've used dual subs is for Home Theater use and my AVR has dual sub inputs.

I'm assuming a splitter? I know I can use Output #1 for one of them (XLR) and the main output to my 601's. But how to use 2?

Tim the ML subs have a RCA output and input labeled "multi". With this you can daisy chain from one sub to the other.

Or I assume you will be using them at all times with the CLX so you can also connect "speaker level", run speaker wire from you amps to the subs or from the speakers to the subs.
