Default I'm done with these Jensen Capacitors!!!!!!!!!

I think this is the third one to go bad in my 120S.

I read somewhere that these all go bad and leak.

Time to try the Mundorf.................

Well.............. if one went bad and that is the only one you changed it is not too surprising that the others started going bad. When a coupling caps tanks, it is time to change them all. Life with tube gear.

Been very pleased with the Clarity MR coupling caps in my SLI-80. Long break-in, but great sound.

I did quite a bit of research on the Jensen oils for my Cary SLI-80 and V12R. While 1000v version worked great in my SLI-80 amp and SLP-98L preamp with fewer tubes and less heat, I was real nervous about installing them in my V12R amp with 16 tubes firing away. IIRC, the heat values on some caps are right at the limit, so I ended up trying the Mundorf Silver-Gold (non oil) caps in the V12R. Also noticed AN is using the same in their kit amps. Just got 20 hours on them so far and they were a tad more detailed and bright at 5 hours, they are already settling in nicely and I can say I don't think I'll do any more Jensen oils in my Cary amps any more even though the newer 1000v .22uf version did work really well in my SLI-80. Do you have the older 600v .22uf version from 4+ years ago that had a known bad batch of them???, if so, def want to replace all of them.

I have it hooked up now. These things sure do depth good and space. Don't seem as liquid as the Jensen but they are brand new.

I'll check them out in the morning.

I have them in a bag. Funny thing is one is longer than the other three.

Well, it turns out I had three 600 and one 1000 vdc cap in it.

These Mundorf are super impressive, but with only about ten hours they don't have the Jensen midrange. Hopefully they will smooth out. Kind of bright on vocals.

Stupid Apogee speakers, I hear everything.

There was a bad run of Jensen copper foil caps some years ago. I would e-mail Jensen.

Wish I would have known that. I'll send them an email.

The Mundorfs are great but don't have that midrange.

These amps are so incredible. So dialed in.

Try this out on your gear.

My newest find.
