Default Abbingdon Music Research (AMR)

Does anyone at AA have experience with AMR products? The CD-77 got a lot of good reviews when it first came out a few yrs back. They have come out with a more value-priced version the CD-777 that adds some features functionality to its more expensive brother, such as digital inputs/outputs (i.e., could be used as a DAC or just as a transport). In any case, I was wondering if anyone has heard wither their CDs (CD-77 or the new CD-777) or their 180 wpc hybrid power amp (AM-77) and what they thought. Thanks.

While I was in Singapore in November, I listened to one at Audio Note for several songs. The layout and build quality looked pretty good, almost mimics their amps in design. I am not sure what you like in a CD player but this one is worth an audition if you like a smooth sounding unit.

Thx Jim. I was just curious if it is worth auditioning just for the heck of it.

Since from your signature it looks like you are a "valve guy". I think you would like the sound a lot.

I met DC during an audition at a friends house when he (DC) was "pushing" the rather crude/militaristic styled German made Dynastation CD player. Nice guy even if he's a bit hyper. PM coming.
