Default Paradigm floorspeakers

Wondering from AAers with Paradigm floor speakers (or other brands) how you adjust the bases on them to gain best performance, if they are on a low pile carpet . (I have the Signature S8 version if anyone wishes to comment on those, specifically.). Thanks for your comments.

I have my Studio 100's on monitor isolation pads from Auralex. I'm also using their sub pads. They made a huge difference in my room because I have tile floors. I'm not sure how much they would help you if your speakers are already on carpet, but in the case of the subs, they eliminated almost all the rattle and shake I was experiencing during HT use.

Cheers!

I read somewhere that you could adjust the spikes so that the front and back sets are longer or shorter. Thus, you adjust where the tweeter is pointing. I've adjusted the spikes on my Sig8s so that they are tilted forward. There was a noticeable change in soundstaging with pianos, guitars and violins appearing to be more 'in the room'. Frankly, I was sceptical about whether these adjustments would mean anything. Since making the adjustment, I've learned a little more about 'on axis" and "off axis" sound. In my normal sitting position, the tweeter is pointed over my head. In the tilted position, it's pointed St my head. But frankly, I don't find the difference to be particularly material.
