Default MV60SE vs LP66S

I know everyone has their own listening preferences, so I'm looking for some subjective advice.

I'd like to upgrade to a LP 70S, but it wont fit in my budget right now. I'm currently using a MV60SE paired with a Premier 17 LS2. Has anyone compared the two? I'd like to know what you think? Or, would the improvement of the LP 66 over the MV60 be minimal and I would be better off waiting for a LP70S. To be honest, I've never heard the LP66 or LP70. I do know the LP70 has Teflon caps like the 17 LS2.

Thanks
Bugs

I think the improvement from the MV60SE to the LP66 will not be a big improvement. The LP70s will definitely be more refined but if it were me I would go with CJ monoblock offerings. That will be a big step up. Either the LP140 or the LP125SE are great choices.

I talked to service at CJ and their recommendation was that the best option would be to install the C1 cap upgrade in the MV 60. Boy I'd like to go with the mono blocks, but they are way off my budgets radar. Maybe that would cure the next round of upgradeitus.

I'm already running KT120s in my MV60SE. I really like the improvement over the Winged-C 6550s. I'm not familiar with the fuse upgrade. A little more information would be helpful.

KT 120 tubes will not fit under the tube cage on the LP66S - at least the Tung Sol 120s.

This matters at my house because some people think that the amp is more attractive with the cage.

C1 cap upgrade will bring a noticeable improvement. The break in time takes forever but once done you will have a much better amplifier.

Do you know if cap (or other) upgrades are available on the LP66S?

I am sure they are offered. You should call CJ for availability and price.
