Default MAC Tube Preamp w/ CJ EL34 Amp?

Has anyone done this? I've got a brand-new Classic 62 on order from CJ and am considering various tube preamps. The logical choice of course is CJ but I am open to other options.

Thanks for any real world info you guys can provide.

Ivan, I'm going to ask this in the CJ group as well, if it's OK.

While I have not personally done so, I would not hesitate to use a C22 MkV (just sold mine) with the 62SE. Think it would be a terrific match. If you need more bells & whistles (meters, built-in DAC, etc.), feel sure the C2700 would also be a great match.

Thanks for your input Glenn. I am very interested in MAC tube preamps. DAC would be a nice plus. And yep, I am a fan of tone and balance controls too. I prefer sweet, warm, and fatigue-free to Uber-detail.

Update: As of a couple of days ago, I'm the happy owner of a MAC C-22MV. The CJ 62 amp and Mac C-22 have many hours to go before they're broken-in but so far, very, very good.

I want to thank Glenn for his helpful input.

Paul

My pleasure.

The C22 & 62SE are a terrific pair. Let the tube-rolling begin (once break-in has finished).
