Default Time for new cables Help,

Ok, I have mostly a brand new system. I think my next step will be new speaker cables. Current cables are Shunyata Andromeda and I have no problem with them, just not sure they fit in with all the upgrades I've done and want to demo some replacements. I won't even think about buying unless I get to home demo for a few weeks.

Current system:
BAT REX pre
BAT vk600m-se mono amps
Esoteric XO1-LE
Shunyata Balanced aorora and stratos IC's
Wilson Sasha
Critical Mass Systems Racks
Shunyata Dark Field cable elevators
various acoustic stuff from rpg and asc.

Sound is wonderful so this isn't a I am trying to fix something upgrade I just want to test the waters.

Thanks for the help guys,
Neal

Slow down Neal. Enjoy what you have -- heck, it's still breaking in.

Why not wait (at least 3 months) and let everything jell before you consider this avenue? At least that would be my short term recommendation.

Home demo -- probably the best spot for that would be to "demo" from the cable company "cable library" -- if you don't like in 14 days, you can return. Must take into consideration shipping times -- which in essence puts the cables in your hands for approx 1 week. See web site for details.

Got it I didn't know they did that. Thanks for the info. This move won't happen right away but I am going to make that my next step for sure. Thanks for the advice but I will be waiting a bit. Have to save up some $$$. I'm just not familiar with all the cables so want lots of info.

I agree that you should contact the Cable Company and try out a couple if different types in your system. Their lending library is a nice touch.

We did it just for you, Neal. Any further help will necessitate you becoming an AA donator for the cause.

Neal, Wilson is wired internally with Transparent. Dave Wilson insisted on Transparent when doing the Alexandria X2v2 demo I attended at a nearby dealer. I use Transparent and it is my current favorite brand for cables and I have tried many, many over the years. There are some guys here that use Transparent and many more others out there including some well know recording studios. I strongly suggest you try Transparent in your system.

Wilson is not the only company that uses Transparent, Rockport Technologies speakers are also internally wired with Transparent and there may be a few others.

My only additional suggestion, whichever product you choose, try and complete the entire loom from that company.

I've seen the transparent, not heard it but man. That is a lot of $$$ on cables. I will look into it as they seem to be the top dog for sure but not sure I want to put more than $4k to $6k in this. Then really not sure I can do the interconnects as well to match that company. Since I have the new Shunyata IC's balanced, does anyone know if the new Shunyata speaker cables are in line with other cables in that price category. I like there old stuff, but there new line went up in price substantially. I'm just not sure why and is it that much better than the old.
