Thanks Mark -- I'm really happy with every component -- it all jells so well and control of the speakers was my mission in moving from the mightly MC2301's to the D'Agostino Progression amps.

The weight the Agostino Progression amps possess is just what the Alexias needed IMO, Randy.

Couldn't be happier with the entire rig.

Best Sirs,

Bob

Can you describe the differences you hear between the D’ags and your former 2301s?

The Alexia is a tough load to control for a tube amp and while the MC2301's were sweet in detail and presentation of mid & upper ranges, they had trouble gripping authoritative control over the lower bass modules. I loved those amplifiers but after I heard what the Alexia's do sound like with an amplifier with "many more trouncing watts" on tap, I was sold.

The Dan D'Agostino Progression amplifiers not only have that wallop (up to 2,000 watts @ 2 ohms) as they say, they also fill in nicely with the strengths of the MC2301's; very quiet, intricate, refined and highly detailed with a slightly quicker pace; yet not fatiguing.

After nearly 10 years with the MC2301's, I'm really happy with the change I made and these will be around for another 10 years or longer (I won't be able to move them the older I get ).

Best Sir,

Bob

Well I couldn’t have asked for a better explanation than that! Now I get it. Thank you, Sir!
