At this time one can gain access to the review as a subscriber (i.e., via the carbohydrate-based version or downloadable pdf). It should appear on their website later once the next issue is released.

I've owned the unit for a few weeks now. I'm really happy with the purchase. I see that my firmware is version 1.00. Does anyone know what the latest version is and how to go about getting it? Is there a pdf file somewhere listing all the changes according to the firmware updates? Thank you guys, happy listening.

I read that review several times. I kinda want a C52 as a result. Not enough to ditch my C2300, but enough that if the 2300 bit the dust or was otherwise unavailable, the C52 would be my choice (provided I had the money at that point).

Trade the C2300 in and get the C52. You won’t regret it.

Not without a side by side comparison...

I'm sure I could get a C52 and be happy; just not ready to make such a move, nor is the wallet agreeable right now.

As the 2300 isn't current, the next best thing is a 2600/52 comparison. Fortunately, I haven't had the time or sufficiently strong inclination to go for that. Besides, I'm afraid of what I might hear . . .

Of course I blame all of you.
There I was, peacefully minding my own business, sitting on my audio porch of tranquility, sipping a martini and smoking a white owl. Two blissful years had passed and I felt no need, no urge, no hint of upgrade fever. I had my shots, was eating right, getting my exercise and I was, after all, in audio Shangri la. The journey here had been well planned, purchases always well thought out and considered, sometimes several years in advance. Then, when visiting friends in Cincinnati, our host says "you have always wanted to visit Hanson's audio, why don't you and Greg drive down there and take a look?" What a great Idea I thought, look over a large hi end store that appears to be successful in todays market. In my home digs ( Chicagoland ) nice hi fi stores are few and far between. We had a marvelous visit, and when turning to go the manager tossed out a line
" What is it you pay for tax in Chicago? it's a little over 10% isn't it?"
"You know if you were interested in anything we carry you would save the tax and we would ship it to you for free......"
Completely unmoved my heart stirred not. I replied, in perhaps too smug a manner, that I was quite happy where I was in my audio world and even accessories at bargain prices didn't interest me. Another martini please, perhaps a second cigar.......
Tranquility reigned until my bride and I returned home and the latest issue of Absolute Sound was on the table featuring the C52. A stirring, hmmmmm I do have a quite old phono pre amp that I have thought about upgrading some day, and my dac is an early generation, dating back a number of years, and I would like to get into streaming, The pre amp IS eight years old and gets a bit noisy from time to time.
Trouble was brewing.
I could upgrade all at once, high value for the dollar AND save $600 - $700 in taxes.
But I wasn't there yet.
To what did my wandering eyes appear? the Audio Aficionado C52 thread. Which I read, and re read, after which I picked up the phone and called Hansons.
I blame all of you.
pardon me, time for a cigar
G

That’s funny and many of us can relate!
