Accuphase and Stillpoints

there is different approaches with stillpoints with A-70. Either unscrew feet from the A70 or just use the base and Ultra SS free floating. Pro and cons?

IMO, the SS/Base allows to be better positioned under the power supplies and transformers to immediately channel vibration versus the 4 corners where vibration travels a greater distance and you only need 3 versus 4. Ensure the hats are cracked a credit card width. Other info on this is in the Stillpoint forum.

Accuphase doesn't recommend removal of the stock feet as that might cause the mounting hardware to get loose inside the chassis...and that would not be a good thing.

Total nonsense. if you remove the original feet of your Accuphase device, the warranty is lost. The original feet are quite primitive screwed with a coarse-thread screw in the bottom floor panel. Remove the floor panel and you can without problems new feet to the device.nothing dissolves inside the device

i have new feets under my dp430 and E-650. i had no problems to change the original feets with the other feets.

You probably wont have a problem but I think its important to know what Accuphase says about replacing the stock feet.
If you look on page two, second column,fourth paragraph of the yellow booklet provided by Accuphase with all its equipment entited "Important Safety Instructions" you will read this...

"Attempting to replace the feet of the unit is dangerous.The fastening screws may touch internal parts leading to risk of electrical shock or damage to the unit"

So..replace at your own risk.

The original screws of the accuphase feet also protrude 9cm into the housing, so if you use new screws for the new feet you should of course also take short screws, then protrudes nothing in the device too far .and there is no contact with any electronic in the inside of the accuphase if you use short screws.

You seem to be contradicting yourself.
So... it appears that replacing the stock feet on Accuphase equipment isn't "voodoo" after all since you have already done so.

I think you did not understand me correctly. I have changed the feet on a e650,430 because the original feet of accuphase absolutely not fit the optics of the high quality device. I find the original feet from accuphase very ugly. I have made quite normal feet underneath in champagne optics, and no ineffective 900 dollar stillpoints.
