This is a reprint from CitySquares.com about MSS HiFI. It was postesd in 2009.
Adam I. M S S Hi Fi in Ramapo is a store run by a dishonest and rude owner. Johnny Boey, the owner of MSS Hifi, sold me a $3300 product that he advertised as brand new. The product that I received had the serial number tag forcibly removed from the unit. I contacted the manufacturer of the unit and they informed me that they would never provide service or support on a unit that has the serial number removed from the product. I never would have purchased the unit had Johnny informed me that he was selling a unit without a serial number. When I contacted Johhny Boey to return the unit he told me that he will not let me return it. I asked him why, and his answer was to repeat over and over again, "Because I'm a dick and I don't care." I highly recommend that people reconsider doing business with such a dishonest and rude person.

This is really an awful breach of trust. I agree that it is high time the Federal authorities have a look at this fellow. He would appear to be engaging in false and misleading conduct. In Australia we have both civil and criminal penalties for this type of commercial behaviour. Usually the criminal follow the civil sadly, but it is not unknown for the Department of Fair Trading to bring a prosecution first. Is there equivalent consumer protection in the USA?
I note also that the ad states that the amps are a "Special Order". Presumably, after he receives the money, that means he has to find the stock from an unscrupulous dealer/thief , as he clearly cannot buy from McIntosh. If these are ever delivered to Jean Luc he should try and have them identified for McIntosh so this fellows supply route can be traced and stopped. I'm sending MSS an email pointing to this thread and demanding he refund Jean Luc. Perhaps we could all do the same.

Jean Luc.......I recommend you follow this link, and report MSS HiFi to the Federal Trade Commission. Their data base is used by law enforcement, and perhaps this may add some unwanted attention to Johnny Boey's illigal activities.

Jean Luc.......Here is another useful link. It takes you to the Internet Crime Complaint Center website. They work in partnership with the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation). File your complaint against MSS HiFI with these people, too. MSS HiFI deserves all the attention that can be dumped on them.
