As per you request, I install 077+911 minutes ago. Driven by Accuphase 900
Let them warm up for now, will report back.
and you are correct Moon 400 M is warmer sounding than W7M, by a lot. but less refined and darker hue.

gotta go, my lunch time, will report back

Great Toga!

Do you feel one 911 is powerful enough to drive the Q3s in your large room?

Is there a particular reason you use networked speaker cables or you just like them? Gunter Pauler, the head honcho of Stockfisch Records, says that networked cables ruin the phase of the signal so that's how they can produce a bigger soundstage.

Ok, I am back.
Sound from Burmester amplification is crystal clear. and a taste of menthol.. fresh and cool. Inner detail is great. But is it more beautiful sound than others? That depends on listener's preference. Power is 1/3 of Moon W7M, but Bur can play loud, Q3 is easy load.
I like Transparent cables's tonal balance. up top it will never be as crystalline as some,
but for long term listening I prefer their balanced sound. My priority is tonality, power, speed, musicallity. I don't care much about image of sound, depth or something
that take much concentration to appreciate.
Burmester amps are great sounding I am sure, much different presentation compared to ARC Ref40+ REF250. I don't feel tube-like from 077+911. unlike 111 music center which make very tube like sound.
In 24 I have to return all to dealers and need to give answer what source to buy between accuphase and Burmester..
Toga
Thanks for video. Try Transparent Cable for yourself to learn, you may not care about
any theories behind anymore.

Ah oh...
oh no... the more I listen the more I appreciate 077+911 despite it doesn't have warmth
that I am looking for.. they doesn't sound like tube, but also have some silky quality that
I never heard bofore. Tonality is light..airy. I guess with Burmester source it will warm up tonality a bit.
It could be 077+909 that will end up here. hmm.. possible.

How about the Accuphase combo + 077/911? They even have the same XLR pin configuration.

Or the Accustic Arts Transport/Tube DAC + 077/911, to get that tubey character you mentioned.

The sound I mentioned above was already based on Accuphase+077+911, I didn't use 089 or 111. I don't feel the need for extra power from 911mono or 909single. single 911 is more than enough. I have tried AA Drive I + DAC2 and I can say that I make really wonderfully beautiful tube sound. but with more blurred bass of tube. Burmester CD make similar sound but without negative character of tubes. I will ask dealer that if 911 stereo unit is powerful enough, is there any benefit going 911 mono or 909. I think tonality of 077+911 is very neutral. no hint of warm, not shrill. just right. But now I keep telling myself not to catch the first train. I should try Accuphase C3800+A200, or Constellation or D'agostino too. Accuphase 900 never have liquid and creamy mid band of Burmester 089/111, but from mid up, it clearly more open and detailed.
I like to have mono 911, but normallu bridging double power, but damping factor is halved. distortion likely to be higher too. So for purity of sound, 911 stereo should be better sounding. Just my guess

A bridged amplifier also doesn't like lower impedances and the Q3s have a 2.8Ohm minimum in the bass. I think you'd be better off with a single 909 than a pair of 911 monos.

Did you try the Accustic Arts amps?

I've heard great demo of AA amps driving Isophon with great result.
I also tried Drive I + DACII in my own system.
But frankly , I don't have passion about owning AA. I know they're good.
One problem I can find now about 077+911 is that, with old digital recording, like CD
from 80s era, I clearly hear harsh treble of poorly recorded CD of that time. With long
listening I can feel my ear hearing that treble even after I turned it off.
Soon I will bring Accuphase C3800+A200 in. Will also try ARC Ref40+Ref250.
FYI, Dan's Momentum has XLR input impedance of about 100-200Kohm. I asked the company. don't remember exactly, but in this range.

TOGA,

I really appreciate your opinions on all these great electronics. I agree with your opinions on the Burmester gear. I need more warmth in my listening. I want to explore class A amps to see how they compare.

Thank you for ALL your input. It is very valuable to me.
