Thank you Dan and Ivan, and very interesting post from Macuser! If I am not mistaken, the Flux-50 seems to do it's magic even when placed after a power regenerator/power conditioner (Furman IT Reference i20), according to his measurements. I will experiment with placement of the two Flux filters when my new PS Audio P12 arrives: one on the IEC inlet on the P12 and another on either server/streamer, DAC or amp, and both after the P12.

Target the pre/amp first, I bet it will be the best for you aside from feeding the P12

I've been getting increasingly intrigued by this product. But I already have one layaway I'm working on, and other items on the list after that.

Of course, I'm sure this item will make little, if any difference. Just like I was sure that so many other tweaks wouldn't make any difference.

I better get off this thread...

Pete.......I know you’re joking about making little difference. The Furutech Flux 50 is one of those system tweaks worth every dime. Put one on the PS Audio AC regenerator and be prepared to be floored. The one I just added to my JL Audio Fathom f113 subwoofer in the living room system along with its Wireworld Silver Electra power cable is rocking the low frequency range like never before. Listening right now and it is fabulous.

Of course I'm kidding Dan....but I am puzzling over one thing. So, given that my PS Audion P12 is an AC regenerator, doesn't this very fact negate the need to put a filtration device "in front of it"? I'm trying to find a logical reason why this would further improve things.

Is it simply because the P12 will have a cleaner AC source to begin with?

Logically, if that's the case I would expect to see less "improvement" on the P12's "improvement" meter.

Thoughts?

Hi Pete.....I have a Flux 50 NCF going from the wall outlet to my PS Audio P15 and one to my PS Audio BHK Preamp. I just added (thanks to Ivan) Flux 50's to my PS Audio BHK mono amps and it made another jump in improving that holographic image and detail.

It's amazing what the Furutech Flux 50's can do. I would have never believed it if I never have tried them. They do become addictive.

Pete.......My thought is your P12 AC regenerator will respond positively to lower harmonic distortion on the input just like any other amplifier would. After all, the PS Audio AC regenerator is basically a single frequency amplifier, 120 volts/60 cycles in and 120 volts/60 cycles out. It stands to reason the lower the distortion on the incoming utility power the lower the distortion will be at the output. The AC regenerator has less work to do to clean up the power being supplied to connected equipment. As to whether or not the meter display will reflect the difference, I can't say. What I can say is my ears are the ultimate measuring tool I rely on. In the case of the Furutech Flux 50 in-line filter feeding my P10 AC regenerator in the living room system and the PurePower 2000 AC regenerator in the studio system, all I can tell you is hearing is believing.

Yes unfortunately I can't put one in front of my Furman 20I due to it being a 20amp input and I'm using a 20amp Shunyata hc cord. I would think the entire front end would benefit if I could do that. I could plug my other components into my pre's ac accessory panel but that's easier said than done moving all those cords.
The emi meter also provided some surprises on the back of my Furman's bank of outlets as they vary in emi noise. The surprise was the high current outlet putting out a bit less emi than the more filtered outlets Even more surprises came when measuring various circuits equipped with PS noise harvesters and quietlines.

I just ordered two from Ivan (one original and one new design) - one will go on my PS Audio P5 and the other will go on my PS Audio P12. The clock is ticking very slowly now.

Dan, you are an enabler. Hoyt Axton wrote a song (Steppenwolf played it) about you.

I had a feeling your answer was going to go something like this. You're not making things easier...
