Interesting thread! Thanks for all your thoughts. I bought a set of MGIIIa's to hold me over until i could pick up a pair of 3.6's when I sold my 1.6's. Then I started to modify them, maple hardwood frames, tri-amping them, total rewire, and have not pursued the 3.6 or 3.7 etc. This thread has rekindled my interest. Thanks guys! :^)
Regards,
Jim

Mr Sanders even has said should I want to get the mono-blocks, he would just take my amp back and send me the monos , and just charge for a single amp. I'm tempted!!..1800 watts per channel should be sufficient!!..))

I previously had VR4jr's, and I hooked up the Magtechs to them while waiting for the Maggies....I never new the low end theses speakers could produce up until then.. Had a Gamut D200 driving them, and there was no comparison in the low end....A great amp, just not enough power for these speakers to really sing.
Just now enjoying my Modwright Oppo 105 in the system....a new preamp and I think I'm done....Yeah, right!!..))
If you haven't read the white paper on the Magtech amps on Roger Sanders site, then you are in for a treat. They are really the real thing for these panels, I have heard the 3.7's & the 20.7's with the same in 2 different systems & that amp is a keeper. Makes me wonder why I sold mine.....

I heard the 1.7's with subs at the recent Melbourne High End show & was impressed. They have a very smooth, airy sound and were easy to listen to, and of course are the most coherent of panels. I can only imagine how much better the 3.7's are! I'd be interested to know if anyone has compared the 3.7's to the Kingsound King 3's or restored Apogee Divas?
