A number of years ago I compared the LS25 and LS25 mk2 in my system. The LS25 uses 6922 tubes while the LS25 mk2 uses 6H30 tubes. The difference was not subtle. The LS25 mk2 was remarkably better. Far more detailed with a bigger more defined sound stage.

I have also heard the Soviet era 6H30 tubes are better but have never tried them myself. You have to be careful because like a lot of NOS tubes, there are fakes running around.

That couldn't possibly be.........
Seriously, give Victor a call at BAT and ask him about the 6H30 (think they were the first big proponent of same in the USA). There just aren't a whole lot of choices out there like there are with the older tube designs.

Default 6N6P ever used in a ARC Preamp?

Did anyone use 6N6P in their ARC preamp? If yes, how was it?
