A better picture of the Meridian 207 Pro CD Player (and its humongous remote) like the one that graced my system in the late 1980's and early 1990's (See the post above this one) follows:

I have owned the G08 for several years. I still think that it is impossible to beat in its price range. Most underrated high-end CDP ever.

I have owned quite a fair range of high end stuff from Soulution to Ongakus and I can say without a doubt in my mind that Meridian Stuff is world class. I would never use a show to judge a product much less a M product as they are usually not well set up at shows but when done properly you will find a big smile on my face.
Right now I only have my DSP3100 and 808.3 left + Sooloos. howie |

Indeed like you said, Meridian had to be experienced in home environment and not at shows! Its not the best there is, but to me, its the best I ever had experienced all these years! Thank you so much!

I have been a high end enthusiast since the 1970's. Main Sources at present are vinyl, CD, DVD and satelite.
More than 15 years ago I purchased a set of DSP6000 speakers, which since have been suplemented by a DSP5000C. All recently been upgraded to 24/96 spec. I ran the set-up for many years with 500 series Equipment, but am presently using a G68/ G98 arrangement. The downside is obviously the price, and at least for me, setting it up correctly can at times be a bit too challenging. That said, the sound quality when set up correctly transcends by far any other high-end Equipment I have ever come accross. Direct and Trifield are my preferred DSP modes. Video processing is also as far as I am concerned excellent. I plan to stick With this Equipment, but will probably add some DSP5000 speakers if and when budget permits. |
