I expect (guess) Meridian to upgrade sooloos server output to 24/192 within this year. AFAIK only ID41 audio endpoint will be able to handle it and only analog outputs will handle 24/192 without downsampling.

But I do not know about the digital outputs, analog is no problem but there is alot of 24/96 legacy out there but they have to start somewhere.. And maybe that's why the latest gen 808.5/818v2/861v8 all got new Speakerlink output cards, maybe they are indeed 24/192 output capable just waiting on the flip of a firmware switch... My other hypothesis is that DSP7200.2 is the first 24/192 input speaker soon followed by DSP8000.x with a new tweeter..

Only interested in analogue outputs and s/pdif output of ID41 card

Speakerlink is of no interest

And in thinking about it 24/192 is just playing catch-up. DSD is where it's at now, wouldn't you agree?

No, as there is no real software available in DSD. And no non-klugey way to rip DSD from your SACD collection.

I just convert whatever klugey ripped DSD I have to PCM.. I don't see technically why I would rather have DSD than PCM/FLAC?..

But this is a different topic altogether.

I do try and download hi Rez when I can otherwise I buy the CD. Most of the downloads on the hi Rez sites are just releases of the same old songs.
