Anyone have experience with comparisons between running a single and stereo subwoofers?
I have heard two can be beneficial and have the opportunity to purchase a second unit at a fair price - a REL R528. What specific benefits could I expect with adding a second unit? Does it make it that much harder to integrate or is it just a matter of mirroring the existing units location? |

Two will net smoother bass response and slightly more headroom.

Bavarian05.......Let me suggest you purchase Jim Smith's book Get Better Sound. Type the title into Google to find it. It will shed light on many audio related topics including the advantages of using two subwoofers.

Two subs for two reasons:
1- Your system will sound better. 2- We are great at spending one another's money on audio gear. Seriously, as a member of the two sub club I assure you that two subs is the way to go.

Even room pressurization. Reduced susceptibility to standing wave formation. Having two is better than one.

I have tried 2 subs unsuccessfully, one at the front of the room and one at the back for home theatre (6m x 4m room). How do you guys place your subs? I might need to play around again but the sound put me off straight away... too boomy. I admit I didn't give it much of a chance or play around with configurations very much.
