Herbie Hancock's "Head Hunters" from 1974. What I would call a 'fun' album rather than one of his best efforts. Quite a bit of synth work, of which I not a great fan. Getting a handle on my new No. 383 and this has a bunch of sound from up and down the scale, so a good listen. For me, Bennie Maupin's work on reeds is the highlight of the album.

"Midnight Blue" (1967) with the remix by Rudy Van Gelder. Kenny Burrell, Stanley Turrentine, Major Holley Jr, Bill English & Ray Barretto. KennyB at the top of his game, as was Turrentine. So good I just ordered "A Night at the Vanguard" to help poor Kenny out a bit more with his health & financials problems (he is 87 and not doing well).

The new'' One Mic '' recording series from S.L. is truly spectacular.
The Feenbrothers recording is especially outstanding. That one microphone can do this is unbelievable. Only problem is that everything else sounds a bit unnatural after this recording.
