DirecTV serious RG6 hum. Projector hum. Recommendations, please!

So, I am trying to find the hum gremlin(s) in a new install.

It has come down to the RG6 coming from the wall. And only Zeus would probably know where in the hell it is coming from.

So the question is - do those RG6 isolators like the RGPC "Eliminator" actually work? Is that the best solution?

Also, the projector is sending off some hum when it starts up. Using a cheater plug solves 90% of the issue (there is still very minor noise coming over the HDMI and Component cables), but would something like the Ebtech HumX work to clear this up? I mainly ask because I hate the idea of leaving the cheater plug there (it's ugly, for starters...)

Do you power inject your RG6 with DC to boost the signal? Perphaps you daisy a device such as a PVR that has a 5v DC boost enabled? If so, try removing these first.

Another issue could be RG6 runs running too close & parallel to power.

Can you run a ground wire where the direct comes in at the splitter of the coax cable to the house ground.

Common fault is that the coax needs to be grounded not only outside at the dish, but also inside at the house ground.

The incoming area has no easy access to the main house ground.

There is power at the dish; nowhere else is there power, though.

Of the 4 LNB's that come into the MPOE, should I try to ground those before the splitter? I may be able to tie into something from there - just not easily.

From my experience, they don't work.

I would try bonding everything to ground.

On the other hand Pole Pigs do work wonders.

Ground with these? From the incoming to the Sat Switch or outbound from the switch to all the boxes? (4 in, 8 out switch)

Try two of thes and wire the 300 ohm end butt to butt.....short piece of coax to box and coax from other end to TV......works great most of the time, for a few bucks!!
