Before I tore down that one system I used a Phillips DVD Recorder to copy shows off the TIVO unit. A lot easier than using tape and much better quality.

While I also feel that streaming video on demand will for the most part replace physical media, I sure enjoy those Blu-Rays right now.

IMO, the economy and the average consumer will pose BR's decline. Probably will end up similiar to SA CD's. A niche market.

TV's will need to become internet ready & come equipped with BR drives for downloads to be successful. The latter part probably won't happen.

The are in the process of finalizing a Blu-Ray standard for hi-rez audio that would not require video to operate.

Oppo 83. I doubt the 881 at over 20x the price brings anything even worth talking about when it comes to video quality.
