Default Luxman D-08u

A new unit from Luxman! This, I might have to get.

It is a CD/SACD player the same as D-08 but now with USB input and up to 384KHz/32bit and DSD5.64MHz. And it seems to be priced less than the original D-08.

I love the Luxman sound and was looking for to get a DA-06 but I have so many CDs and SACDs as well.

Thanks for the heads up Gene. Great stuff...Vitus are also updating the SCD-025 cd player in their Signature Series with a DSD-compatable USB board in Q3 or Q4 this year, so I think a number of high end manufacturers are getting up to spec.

Btw, it's ironic isn't it that Lux brought manufacting back to Japan from China, and they're able to reduce their prices

I have the DA-06 in my system and absolutely love it. It is an amazing Dac. I too have a huge amount of cd's and after loading them all to my Mac mini no longer feel the need for a CD player. Luxman sound is wonderful, silky, liquid and very analogue sounding.

A friend ripped over 6000 CDs to flac onto a hard drive. Took some years. And then the drive died.. Good he had it backed up.

I believe the price is 1,100,000 yen. Pretty reasonable. I currently use D-06 and like it a lot. The DAC is sweet with this unit. I believe the DA-06 is based on the D-06.

That is indeed HOT news..

The C900u/M900u also has my attention, but i'm not into PC audio or streaming at all.
So the new D08u may have USB board added as the only update?

Curious on any pictures ! Thanks for sharing !

It looks just like a D-08. I was thinking of getting the DA-06 since I got into DSD files but now will look for the D-08u.

The only page I found is Luxman Japan page. http://www.luxman.co.jp/presspro/d-08u

I am so late to the party, I just add D08u to my system today. As alternate to,Ayon CD35. I don’t care about breaking in as out of the box it sounded so nice.
I think PCM filter 2 is creamy and I like it.
XLR Pin has to set to inverted to be compatible with
my Moon preamp.
Quality of packaging is number one. Built quality second to none. Before this when I was younger, I like everything to be separated. Now getting older, I prefer one piece like this. I will have Esoteric K05Xs to compare with Luxman very soon. Exciting to know what the difference between them.
