I don't have the remote, I'll ask them to drop it off.

That's a very useful feature

Tony the mechanic told me it was right. He did have someone's odometer sticking out if his back pocket.

Serge...Should be sufficiently broken in to give you a good sense of the unit. I will be interested in hearing your thoughts especially since Bob (Vintage Tube) did not find the ARC Ref 3 to be synergistic with the MC2301s. Ofcourse the Ref 5 is different so it may work out ok. I don't know. I think if you can get your dealer to get you a Ref 110 (preferably Ref 210) to audition at home with the Ref 5 and you can compare that combo to the Ref 5/MC2301 and Ayon CD 2S/MC2301 combos, that will be the best way to really compare the various alternatives. Sounds like you are having fun with all the new equipment in the house so turn it up and enjoy

Just received my January TAS that has a review on the Anniversary Preamp by JV. To say he likes it is an under statement!

It received their overall Product of the Year award . It's interesting because in the review he said the Ref 5 is better than the Ref 3 in every sonic attribute but still sounded like the Ref 3. He called it a hot-rodded version of the Ref 3. However, the 40th Anniversary Preamp he called a completely new animal. Superior to anything he's heard and only equaled on some attributes by Soulution and Technical Brain preamps many times the price of the ARC REF 40th Anniversary Preamp. I really want to hear one but no chance. My ARC dealer is not going to bring one into his shop

May be going down the 210 path myself. Use the Burmester for the spring/summer amp, and use the 210's for fall and winter. Hmmm.

That would be a nice way to divide up the year and change up the flavor in your listening room
