I was very impressed by the ref 5 and 210 monoblocks driving a pair of strads. Makes me want to go and listen to the anniversary preamp

Yeah the REF 210's sounded nice with the Vandersteen 7's at RMAF.

Serge...how many hours does the REF 5 have on it? If it is brand new, the bass performance especially will drastically improve after 400-600 hrs. If it is fully broken in then you should be fine.

It has seen some playtime as I told my dealer to hang on to it about 3 weeks ago and get some hours on it first. Not sure if it does have 400+ hrs on it yet but the bass is impressive already.

Serge...you can use the remote control to find out how many hours have been logged on the machine. If this is a new unit that the dealer received, then the counter has not been resent (which is typically done when the unit is retubed). So you can press the "Hours" button on the remote and it will tell you how many hours have been put on it.
